COVID-19 Update

Dear Friends of Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center PC,

We are very saddened and concerned by the COVID-19 pandemic and have made the difficult decision to temporarily close our office. On Tuesday March 18, 2020, the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and the COA (Colorado Optometric Association) recommended suspending routine vision/eye care. We are following this recommendation to insure the safety for our patients and staff.

We have closed beginning Friday March 20, 2020 and hope to re-open the beginning of May 2020. We will be monitoring the recommendations of the CDC and AOA.  We will remain open for eye related emergencies as well as post-op appointments.

Please see below for specific eye-related emergency procedures, contact lens questions, optical questions, and vision therapy questions.

Continue to check our website as well as our social media links for updates. We will also be monitoring our phones and emails between the hours of 10:00AM and 2:00PM. Please allow 24-48 hours for us to return your calls and emails.

The doctors and staff of Hellerstein & Brenner Vision Center PC are appreciative of your trust and continued support. We wish you and your families good health and we will see you soon!

If you have redness, pain, discharge, floaters, flashes, foreign body, new onset double vision, sudden vision loss, and any other urgent concerns please CALL us immediately at: (303) 850-9499. We will be monitoring our phones between the hours of 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Monday-Friday and have staff/doctors available to call you back or set a teleconference appointment.

This coming week contact lenses will be available for pick-up Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 2pm. If you would prefer for us to mail your current contact lens order directly to you, please call (303) 850-9499 or email

Also, if you run out of contacts but have not been seen for your annual eye exam, we will be extending contact lens prescriptions on a case to case basis.

If you would like to order contact lenses please visit to order swiftly online. If you have any difficulties or concerns please call (303) 850-9499 or email for any contact lens related questions.

As an important reminder from the AOA (American Optometric Association):

“The research literature is clear. To prevent contact lens infections of all kinds: bacterial, viral, and fungal, contact lens wearers must:

  1. Wash hands thoroughly, at least 20 seconds, with soap and water, and dry hands completely.
  2. Use daily disposable contact lenses if possible.
  3. If solutions are required, use them appropriately. Specifically, do not top-up or re-use solutions.
  4. Replace cases monthly or more frequently. Rinse, wipe, and air dry contact lens cases every day.
  5. Do no wear contact lenses when you are ill.”

Optical will be operating on a reduced schedule by appointment only for you to pick up glasses.

This coming week optical hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am to 2pm. Please call (303) 850-9499 and leave a message so we can call you back to schedule your pick up time.

If you would like for us to mail your glasses to you (at an additional charge of $10.00), please call (303) 850-9499 or email so that we can make arrangements.
